Began disassembling the engine. Here what it looks like. Definitely was leaking from the head gasket.




















I've got the engine out all looks great so far. I guess i need to find a chain breaker now to get the cam chain apart. Also some of the engine case screw heads are stripped. Ordered a stainless set of SHCS and head gasket.

I've ran it a couple of times and rode it up and down the street. It smokes a lot and spits out thick oil. So I'm tearing it down anyway to replace all the gaskets and valve seals. After looking and measuring the cylinders ill decide if i should replace the rings. Probably will replace them anyway.

Hi all, 

I will use this thread to show my progress on a café racer build I am doing for my 70' Honda CL450 Scrambler. This will be a long process and I will update when I can. I bought the bike from InspectorDG on 10/14/2012 and I found it from a friend of mine, racerx17x who found it on this site for sale. 


  

The bike sat for over a decade before I got it, but InspectorDG got it running. I does burn a lot of oil, so i bought a complete gasket kit and valve seals. I will do a compression test before began to tear it down tonight. 

I am a design engineer so I like to model a few things up to get ideas on the build. I use solidworks. Here is something I want to do for the exhaust:
