Been pretty busy lately with other stuff but finally I'm back on the bike again.

Lowered the front about 1.5 inches and now looking for some 11" rear shocks.

Cut off some tabs and brackets and smoothed the welds:

I cut off the rear foot peg mounts because they are ugly as stamped. Not sure if I'm going to weld a tubular frame and have rear controls or just leave the controls where they are. Can't decide what I want to do.

After a great summer of playing with the S2000 it is now time to get back on the CL450. I also moved and spent some time organizing my new shop.

Pic of me at Mid-Ohio:

Went to a swap meet in Springfield, OH last weekend and bought some clubman handlebars. Put them on and got back in the groove of working on this beast.

Before and after:

My car lift makes a great motorcycle lift too.

Also began cutting off the extra tabs I won't need.

Just ordered some new fork seals. I'm going to cut the external springs add a spacer in the fork to lower the front. Not sure how low I want to go yet. 2" maybe?

Anyone know how low I can go until it bottoms out inside the fork?

Anyway, the progress continues...

Well i finally got my car done so i'm back to working on the 450.

I painted the crank cases and ground the cylinders flat. Had to grind down .005" to get it all flat.

Next up I will be doing a lot of polishing.

FYI to anyone who orders from Dime City Cyles there are a few issues with there item descriptions.

First issue I had was the speedo cable, note the original is on the bottom and the DCC one is on the top. There is no nut on the DCC cable and the end is completely different.

Second issue was the front brake cable. The original as you can see has the brake switch where as the DCC cable has no switch.

Third issue was the engine head/shock mount acorn nuts. Their description says they will work on both, they are correct but the original head nuts have a much larger flange where as the DCC nuts don't.

I just wanted to let people know about these issues. To me it really was no big deal, I just returned the nuts and speedo cable. I decided to use the brake cable.

I'm not bashing DCC, I just want it to be known. I will continue to order from DCC they have a good selection of parts for our bikes and good customer service.
